32nd Freds Pass Rural
Show
Friday 14th May, Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th, 2010
2010
PROGRAM ADDITIONS
Whilst some of the components of the 2010 Show are still in the
development stages, the following is an outline of the proposed
program of events. This program is subject to change or alteration
without notice.
2010 promises to be an exciting event. Whilst the format and
nature of the Show will remain unchanged and with the emphasis
still on its rural and agricultural roots, the Show will provide
something of interest for everyone. This is truly a family event.
This year we will be introducing some new components to the Show
that will encourage greater participation by our young people,
particularly those in the rural and remote areas of the Northern
Territory. Some of these components include:
- Performances by young people
- Interactive Workshops
- Major Auction

PERFORMING ARTS
In 2010, young people between the age of 10 to 25 years will
be encouraged to participate in the Show to showcase their talents
and achievements to the wider community. Each and every participant
will leave the Show with feedback from their performance and will
leave with the knowledge that their contribution to the Show was
an integral part of the success of the Show.
EXHIBITIONS/ DISPLAYS
2009 saw over 200 companies, government organisations and community
groups exhibit at the Show. Both government and private sector
will be encouraged to exhibit at the Show however the focus will
be on interactive displays. The cost exhibiting will be incorporated
into an overall sponsorship package for organisations who are
interested in exhibiting goods and services. Alternatively a site
only costs will be available for potential exhibitors/participants.
WORKSHOPS
2010 will see workshops introduced to the program of events.
Workshops may include
- Music
- Arts/Crafts
- Theatre
- Indigenous Culture
Instructors from each of these disciplines will offer participants
the chance to learn about each topic in an interactive manner.
That is, the participants will have the chance to become actively
involved rather than simply listening to lecture-style instructions.
The workshops are open to everyone from all age groups. It is
hoped that participants will be encouraged to further explore
the social or professional opportunities offered to each area
and get involved in community or professional groups from their
particular topic of interest.
